CANT LET THE NIGHT END.

Broken through the day, healing in the night.

Shattered into pieces, holding myself tight.

Voids filled with random thoughts of mine

Binding them together hoping to be fine.

The pain smiles and slips away slowly

With the midnight closing in celestially.

The breeze takes my anguish away

The moonlight shines and whitens my grey.

Have had my locks, but now found the key.

In the soothing darkness that no one can see.

reminding myself, that my heart is free.

The world is asleep, take a leap and flee.

Seeing the world from where I stand,

Being there for myself to talk and understand.

Holding on to my heart, soul and mind,

I just don’t want the night to end.

The 2-kilometer walk has been my biggest concern ever since I shifted to my new home. Public transport is not available unless you reach the main road, which is fricking 2 kilometres away. Oh wait... it's not just one way. I need to walk this twice a day to get to college and back. At this pace, I might as well walk a marathon. Ugh, that’s senseless. You RUN a marathon. That's okay; I know I'm just illogical sometimes. But let's put all that aside for now. The kilometers seem long only on the days when Prachi doesn't show up. The door lock clicked open as Ariv walked back into his silent flat. He walked in with his shoes on and dropped his bag on the floor. He immediately reached for the switchboard and turned on the lights. He stood at the same spot, looking around at his flat that had been left in a mess after he had rushed out horribly for work in the morning. “Oh man! Was I this messy?” he thought to himself as he stepped toward the couch. He untied his shoes and threw them into a corner. His mobile buzzed with continuous notifications from work. THE OFFICE.... The Intercom landline on Noor’s table gave out two long beeps. She clipped the papers on her desk and picked up the call before it could make a third irritating beep. “ yes.” She spoke with her hands busy with the sheets and the phone sandwiched between her head and her shoulder. “ could you come in for a minute Noor?” the Auditor spoke on the other end who sat 5 chambers away. She picked up the stapled sheets and walked to the cabin titled “Mr. Ahuja” “ Noor! Please don’t mind but can you push an hour post shift to finish these too?” He spoke pointing to another bundled file on his table. “ but sir…” “ thank you Noor.
